What's New!!!

5/17/13
The Writing Starter Kit: Mini Edition is now out and available for free on smashwords.com. It should also be available at a number of online stores very soon. Amazon.com, bn.com, etc. also free. Hopefully, I will be able to get out the extended edition out by the end of the month. I am also working on the final edits to my horror short story collection tentatively titled "Haunted Tours". Last but not least, I am still working on getting the "store" up and running, so for the moment you will have to go to smashwords.com or one of the other sites listed to buy and download my products. Sorry for the inconvenience!

So I probably will not be able to get out the Writing Starter Kit: Extended Edition out before the end of the month. However It should still be ready early in June. Next up is the horror anthology.

In case you didn't notice, or are new to the site, I added a video section. While I do plan to eventually upload my videos, right now I am concentrating on videos that I have found either inspiring or informative. Music videos, interviews, etc. Also on the upcoming page I have added additional info about the Writing Starter Kit: Extended Edition, which is now available on smashwords.com and will soon be available at other online retailers. The free mini edition is still available as well.

Both Writing Starter Kits are now available through most online retailers. I hope to have two books out by October. The first is 102 Prompts for Horror Writers, the second is the horror anthology I have been working on.

It's been a long time since I updated! Maybe it just seems that way. Anyway "102 Prompts for Horror Writers" is out and now available at smashwords.com and many other online retailers. "Haunted Tours: The Abandoned School" I want to have out by the beginning of October, but realistically speaking it probably won't be out in major online bookstores until mid-October. I added some new prompts and links to buy my books. I am still working on the store, but right now that has taken a back seat to actually writing, so don't expect it anytime soon.

Within the next couple of days my new book, "Haunted Tours: The Abandoned School," should be up on smashwords.com and amazon.com, then other online retailers. I also started a new blog at elizabethswriting.wordpress.com, but don't expect much until after the book is published.

Alright! I have been a little busy so I haven't updated the site much, but here is the news from the past few weeks. I have published my ebook "Haunted Tours: The Abandoned School," and it is now available on Smashwords, Kobo, Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Apple, etc. Yay! It was out by the end of October, but I didn't get a chance to update until now. I am not planning another book release until around February (tentatively). I would like to try a romance prompt book and a Regency Romance (already written but still requiring major editing).

In other news, I have joined NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) for all of November. For those who don't know, it is a writing challenge where you have to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. For everyone else who is participating, Good Luck!

NaNoWriMo ended successfully! Yay! I have been busy writing the romance prompt book, and it will probably be out sooner than February. Unfortunately, the regency romance I was planning isn't going so well. Upon rereading it to prepare for the edit, I realized that there were several awkward moments, and a couple structural problems. Then I realized that I should probably re-outline the book, and ended up planning a complete rewrite. Hopefully this will make it even better, but it also means it will not be released for awhile.

I would like to thank everybody who has supported me so far and wish everyone a happy 2014!

So I didn't realize just how long I have avoided my website and honestly I was just about to delete it when I had an idea. You see, I really didn't like updating it (I update my blog several times a week usually, and I didn't really want another thing to add to my plate). Then I was struck by inspiration in the form of an article. It was about getting more traffic and effectively using social media etc. Usually the tips are ones I am already practicing to varying degrees of success. This time there was something different. It was a tip about centering the focus of your blog, website, whatever around your desired audience. Now this seems like common sense, but apparently many people don't really do that. Now in my defense, most of my current books are prompt books for writers, so I believed my audience was other writers. The problem was my blog pretty much covered everything I wanted to say about writing that wasn't covered in my books. The only reason I had to go to this website was to update my book list, and frankly I usually shrugged it off. After reading the article, I realized that I actually have two audiences. One is other writers. They are taken care of by the blog. The other is made up of actual readers, and they are the ones who probably won't find my blog that interesting. So why not cater my website to them?

That was a long way of saying that the website is going to be different and why. This website is going to feature more of my writing and other points that might help potential readers decide if they want to read/ hopefully buy my books. I want to try and get more of my personality across and have more fun updating the site.
